It was not an entirely predictable affair – certainly not when somebody creates Oscar history by dropping the f-bomb during an acceptance speech – but this year’s Oscars, by and large, went where they were supposed to go as the deeply-loved favourite The King’s Speech picked up best film, best director for Tom Hooper and best actor for Colin Firth.
