Hi im doing a project on film making & movies at school and i was just asking who was the first person to wright a movie script and make a movie out of it?

It’s possible that D.W. Griffith did with Birth of a Nation in 1915, or maybe it was in the silent era starring Charlie Chaplin a few years earlier. It’s been disputed since Griffith wrote a full two hour movie and a full treatment of the screenplay, whereas Chaplin’s were shorts that lasted about 8-10 minutes and featured his character, The Tramp. It’s been thought that a Russian did something before 1910, but I am not completely sure on that particular fact.
