Q&A: What would be the first steps for me if I’m interested in writing scripts for music videos?

Question by kelsey a: What would be the first steps for me if I’m interested in writing scripts for music videos?
When I hear a new song I see a video storyline in my head. I shared a few of my ideas with people, and I’ve been told many times that I have unique ideas about music videos. I would like to pursue this as a possible career choice, but I’m unsure of who to contact and how to go about getting my ideas to the right people. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I could start?

I don’t think there is much of a market for music video script-writers. You’ll prob have to do the whole shebang to get noticed. Start by making your own homemade music videos using whatever gear you can. Work with other people (friends!) who know better how to do the (computer/technical) stuff that maybe you don’t. LEARN. Get better. Have you and your friends be the actors. HAVE FUN. Post them on Youtube. If your stuff is fresh and creative, people will find you, plus many bands have contests for user-submitted videos. SUBMIT. Have more fun!

Good luck!
