adderall (dextroamphetamine) dose for 145 lbs girl with BMI about 25. ?
Question by matt: adderall (dextroamphetamine) dose for 145 lbs girl with BMI about 25. ?
Hi. Quick question. I know all about the legalities of this stuff and I am studying hopefully to be an anesthesiologist so though I won’t ever have a pharmacists expertise on adderall I know a fair amount of what it does and the mechanism(s) behind it.
While in Mexico my friends obtained some pills that were sold as 30 mg of dextroamphetamine, one of the main ingredients in adderall.
I have a script for I think 15 or 20 mg pills (not below 15) and one does me fine and I can feel an effect after half a pill.
With these I need a whole pill to feel the effect so I’m guessing they are the 10 mg pills. Also a friend idiotically had 6 and he has no tolerance to these and if they were really the 30 mg pills he should be dead or hurting so I conclude these are 10 mg (and maybe 5 mg) pills.
My girlfriend wants some. She has no heart conditions and is a typical healthy 19 yr old female with a BMI of 25 and weight of 145. We can debate all day the semantic definition of safe, but my question is how many mgs of dextroamphetamine can a typical 145 lbs 19 yr old female take without any significantly adverse side effects.

I would have her see her doctor. The doctor will be able to tell if she needs medication, what kind of medication, and what dose would be correct. Adderall is no joke. It’s not meant to be used as a recreational drug or for people to self-medicate. It can have serious side effects and it’s also addictive…I knew two people who were addicted to it in high school and they had a really hard time getting off it (and this was doctor prescribed) It’s definitely not something to guess around with doses. It’s basically like speed, but you know that.
I probably also don’t need to tell you that drugs bought randomly in Mexico are not subject to FDA testing and standards so who knows what you are getting, what the doses really are, and if there are contaminants. I wouldn’t use those as any kind of measure of anything.
If your girlfriend needs this kind of medication, under a doctor’s care is the only safe way to go about it. I’m not trying to be negative, but the health of someone you care about is worth protecting.
