Question by Alex: What is the best video camera that I should buy that is under ,000 for independant film making?
My current camera just broke the other day, and I want to replace it with a better camera. My old camera was the Cannon ZR500. It worked good, so I am looking for one that will work better. I cant afford anything too pricy, so lets keep them under or near 2000. Anything under 1000 is fine too, as long as it still works good. I use these cameras to make movies, my movies generally range from 10 min. to an hour.

I just purchased a Canon HV20 and am very happy with it so far. It records High Definition at 1080i on MiniDV tape, which makes it best for editing and the quality is amazing. It also has some nice features for being under $ 1000, like an external mike input and 24fps cinema mode, which you would probably like for making your productions more filmlike. Hope this helps and good luck.
