Q&A: Can someone please edit my letter?
Question by Brandon T: Can someone please edit my letter?
Can someone please edit my letter. The letter is to Henry Selick.
Dear Mr. Selick,
My name is Jordan, and I am a fan of your stop motion movies. I love the movies The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. I am a grade seven student In Sir William Osler Elementary and I’ve always wanted to a well-known person and this will be my first time.
I heard that you’ve been working on Laika’s first feature, Coraline, and will be the first three-dimensional stop-motion animation movie. I’ll admit that this was a pretty scary book and I mean that in a good way. Instead of blood and gore, Gaiman uses the feeling of foreboding to make you get frightened out. Similar to M. Night Shyamalan’s style of movie-making, Coraline was plenty frightening without being gratuitous. I probably won’t ever look at a shiny black button the same again.
I like all the voice cast for Coraline. Such as Dakota Fanning as Coraline, John Hodgman as Coraline’s father, etc. What I am looking in the move is when the part Coraline’s other parents tell her that if she really wants to stay with them forever and always, she has to do just one little thing…They went into the kitchen. On a china plate on the kitchen table was a spool of black cotton, and a long silver needle, and, beside them, two large black buttons. “I don’t thinks so,” said Coraline. That is when the real trouble starts for Coraline and the part where it gets exciting.
I think you are the best and right director to direct the movie Coraline and other movies as well. It is because of your past experience studying at the Program in Experimental Animation at California Institute of the Arts, under the guidance of renowned teacher Jules Engel. What makes it difficult as a movie director and what makes it enjoyable? Also, what was the most difficult part of directing Coraline? Thank you for making the movie for the public to watch and I will be looking forward for both your letter and the movie. Thank you for reading my letter.
Best regards,

I will be looking forward for both your letter and the movie. Thank you for reading my letter.
