Hello, I’m a film director. I recently joined forces with a film producer and we want to tackle a powerful script. Given that it’s 2010, I was wondering if there were a website in existence that I could log onto and read through script synopsis/genres/etc. until we find the right script and then purchase it. Any help us greatly appreciated. Thank You.

If you’re a director and you don’t know a single site with scripts by aspiring screenwriters, I am flat-out amazed. Are you perhaps an aspiring director just getting started? (That’s okay, of course.) You need to educate yourself. One place to do so is IMDb’s Shop Talk Directors board. (They have a Shop Talk Writers board, too, but no display-the-whole-script capability.)

Zoetrope, scriptshark… Those come first to mind, but there are probably a half dozen others.

Just be sure that as a novice, both you and your producer friend are able to pay about 3% of your budget, minimum, up front for the screenplay.
