Good Movie-making software?

Question by Z C: Good Movie-making software?
Now that I’ve upgraded to windows 7, I noticed my windows movie maker was gone. So now I want to take the opportunity to get something better. Price doesn’t matter, I just want something that can work with many file types, and is, well, better than windows movie maker 🙂

I just upgraded to windows 7 too! Anyway, I made some pretty awesome videos in high school using movie maker. But, one day in my biology class one of my friends made a video using Adobe Premiere Elements and although the content was great. I was blown away by the effects and video quality. Top Notch!
