Question by MK: Avatar: the last Airbender, they are making a movie..?
so maybe then after the trilogy(I think it will be one if the movie is about book 1) would the producers make a book four. Seems odd they would end it on a cliffhanger.
The “last” episode was also said to be the season finale not show finale, It took them a year between the different books maybe book 4(if there is one) needs 2

I imagine if the first live action movie does well they tie up some loose ends from the third season. But, I doubt they will make a whole new season off the loose ends. More than likely they will do a one hour movie showing what happened to Zuko’s mom and the outcome where everyone lives happily ever after.
The next Avatar story, if there is one, will be about a different avatar with completely different sidekicks. I hope so. I hate when writers try to continue what was always written as done.
