Good video editing software for Mac?

Question by Odd Ball: Good video editing software for Mac?
I am making some home movies, but I want to edit them with software to make them better. Most of the effects that I make will be like gunshots, muzzle flashes, and explosions. I have a Mac to, so it has to be Mac compatible. All suggestions are welcome and thanks for your help
