I got a GL1 for filming snowboarding, It has a nice professional look to it, and a handle for better ride alongs and what not, It’s able to keep up with follow cams, and not get all sketchy like a cheap camera, it has manual focus/zoom as well, and can put any lense you want, i just use a wide angle mostly. Since they are almost 3 grand new, I’d say check out ebay/craigslist, I got mine for 650 with the lense for free with it that should have been 600 off of ebay, just keep your eye open for a good deal, they are great for filming “action” things, and very customizable, and a good reliable camera, and since its not HD, tapes are quite cheap for it. [i’d reccommend running sony premium tapes, or HD sony tapes for best quality]

Good luck, keep your eyes open, and you could find one at a great price, and you wont be let down, its a great camera, with great style.
