2.5 stars for Kisaan

SYNOPSIS: Kisaan is the story of.Dayal Singh played by Jackie Shroff, a farmer and his two sons, Aman played by Arbaaz Khan and Jigar, played by Sohail Khan. Strapped for money, Dayal Singh decides on educating only one of his sons. And the natural choice for him is Aman, a bookworm. Meanwhile Jigar continues to live with him and help him in farming. As the years unfold Aman goes on to become a city-bred lawyer who is practical and Jigar turns out to be a happy-go-lucky man who takes everything at face value. During an all-important Panchayat meeting, a shrewd businessman, Sohan Seth played by Dalip Tahil, offers them a huge sum of money for their land. Dayal Singh refuses as he considers his land his mother earth. Post which, Dayal Singh is insulted deelpy by the village mischiefmaker, Nirmal, on behalf of Sohan Seth. With his pride hurt Dayal Singh looks to his elder son, Aman to avenge him. While Amans solution is to go to Court, when Jigar learns of the act, his reaction is brutal yet simple. As a result, Jigar ends up in jail while elder brother Aman shifts to the city and ends up working with Sohan Seth. The difference in ideology is further displayed when Aman is ready to sell the land but Jigar is not. DIRECTION: Puneet Sira has directed Kisaan. This is his third film after I – Proud To Be Indian & Jai Veeru.
