Question by twilight girl forever!!!!!: I few questions about video making and windows movie maker?
okay…
1. Is there any good free movie makers, that are safe to download, but have more effects then Windows movie maker?
2. Can you download more effects onto your windows movie maker 2.6? If so…how? and what website?
3. Is it possible on Windows Movie maker 2.6 to add an effect half way through a video clip? like slow motion, in the middle of the clip?
Thanks(:

1. There’s always Pinnacle’s VideoSpin but I don’t know if it has more effects or not since I’ve never used it.
2 Yes, unfortunately, for those of us who are addicted to adding extras to WMM;-) I’ll give the info below.
3. Yes, split the video where you want to add the effect so you have a separate section of video you can add the effect to. You do this in the preview window. Move the slider to where you want the effect to begin and then move it back to the left just a tad. Click on the Split Button. Now, move the slider to where you want the effect to end and move it just a smidge to the right and click the Split Button. When your video plays you’ll never notice where the video was split but you’ll see the effect. As you get some experience and skill doing this, you’ll begin to know exactly where to split the video. Until then just remember that “Undo” is your friend.
Now, for adding additional effects, transitions, titles and other goodies. WMM 2.6 is an XP version so you’ll add XP versions of these things. Unfortunately (again), there are a ton of them for XP WMM;-)

Here’s a video explaining how to copy them and get them into WMM. It’s not too hard and gets too easy after the 2nd one;-)
This is a great forum. It pays to join and ask your WMM questions there.
