in the beginning of the movie the girl is on the roof w her mother, as the movie progresses, the girl gets sent to a series of foster homes & she meets this goth kid & they both love art & drawing, at the end of the movie she makes like little models of the homes she lived in and she decides to move on but not forget her past… i thought it was lies my mother told me but idnt think soo,, thnx

sounds like “white oleander”. the mother was michelle pfieffer. and the girl ends up making the models out of suitcases. sound similar?
