I just got a new HP pavilion g4-1016dx laptop, but I can’t find out how to use the laptops webcam. I know I can use Skype or Oovoo, but I just want to take pictures with the webcam. I don’t want to buy a portable webcam because those are just tacky so it frustrates me that my webcam won’t work.

I went on HP’s website and they said I need to install something but when I went to install it, it wasn’t there. I also tried searching for ‘Webcam’ in All Programs, but it didn’t show up. I know the webcam works because I was using Skype yesterday. I’d appreciate it if you could tell me what to do.

I’m also taking summer classes and we need to make a video. The laptop comes with a microphone also, but where do I go to make a movie? Is there a software I need to install? If there isn’t please tell me because I don’t want to clutter my laptop with unnecessary programs.

The laptop is a Windows 7 and 64bit PC
