Q&A: What do you think about this mini review of T2?

Question by Crazy_Man: What do you think about this mini review of T2?
I wrote it for a top ten list of “movies you should see before you die”. I know its now a full review and there can be alot more, but I’m not trying to make a ten thousand word list here.

The story goes like this. Skynet, a computer program developed by humanity to to defend itself, becomes self aware and tries to eradicate it’s creators. In the future, a man by the name of John Connor leads the humans in a resistance against Skynet. Skynet, knowing that it cannot win the war in its own time period, sends a machine back in time to assassinate John’s mother, Sarah Connor. The humans send back a protector (Kyle Reese, played by Micheal Biehn) for Sarah, although he is a mere human, forced to use his wits to outmatch his mechanical opponent.

In the second film, John Connor (Edward Furlong) is a young man living with a set of foster parents on account of his mother being sent off to a mental institution. Linda Hamelton returns as Sarah, which is nice, but instead of the sweet and innocent Sarah we got in the first movie, we get this crazy, desperate, angry Sarah, which fits in with her character. In my opinion, Linda Hamelton played her role flawlessly, it’s as if she WAS Sarah! The premise of the movie starts off simple, John being the target for assassination by Skynet but it becomes so much more. I’ll leave that for you to find out for yourself.

Just like the first Terminator, two entities are sent back in time, but this time, the roles are somewhat reversed. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the T-101, the same model that tried to assassinate Johns Mother, though this time he arrives as a protector for John, a genius move by director James Cameron. The Terminator sent back by Skynet, the T-1000, is much different than the T-101, as he is 10 times more powerful. He’s made of liquid metal, allowing him to regenerate any damage he takes, and on-top of that, he can take the shape of anyone he wants! This really stacks up the odds because the T-101 has almost no hope of defeating him. The T-1000 is played by Robert Patrick, which is an odd, but excellent choice, as where Arnold Schwarzenegger is big and muscular looking, Robert Patrick is lean and menacing, leading you to believe that he is weaker than the T-101.

I could go on and on about this movie, about the visuals, the action scenes, the characters, but if you haven’t seen it, what are you doing reading about it? Go see it! Because this truly could be the best movie you ever see.
