Can someone who’s good at film/movie making also be good at photography?

Question by : Can someone who’s good at film/movie making also be good at photography?
Next year, I’d like to take either film or photography, and I’l probably take film. I’m also taking information technology, part of which is based on photoshop, so I wouldn’t miss that part of photography. Is film similar to photography, and as I improve in film, could I also improve at photography? I really like both and can’t pick.
