Are the Avatar 3D movie glasses normal red and blue 3D glasses?

Question by me_you_us_and_God: Are the Avatar 3D movie glasses normal red and blue 3D glasses?
I have heard that you can’t use the normal red and blue 3D glasses. Is that true? I’m living in a small city in Asia and the Cinema I go to does not give out glasses, so I learned to make my own. But if I can’t even use those then I’ll just wait till I go back to the U.S.A and watch it then.

no sorry red and blue 3d glassed dont work
only the polorized glasses that look like sunglasses work
