Question by Nick: Are you unable to install greasemonkey scripts on the latest version of firefox too?
If it visit a greasemonkey script page like http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/54894
and click on install, there no popup showing up to install the script. the script doesn’t get installed.

It works for me. I’m not sure what’s gone wrong with yours–maybe there are some preferences that got messed up when you reinstalled. Take a look at the Preferences>Security panel, among other things.
