This cult 1997 science fiction film written and directed by Steven Spielberg won numerous awards and praise for its production values and series tone about a subject many still see as a silly subject: alien abduction. Richard Dreyfuss plays a electrical lineman who has a close encounter with a UFO but his family does not believe him until a mother ship lands in Wyoming and starts unloading people it had abducted over the years. The government gets involved and selects a group of people to make contact and board the ship.
