Books being made into films?
Question by dazed_n_veryconfused: Books being made into films?
Do you think its a good thing that many best-selling (or close to) books are made into feature length hollywood films? Granted, a well written novel is as good a base for a script as anything, and many people love to see a favourite book ‘come to life’, but I’m not sure. Books, for me, stir the imagination more than anything. Personally I think it’s great that everybody can have a different interpretation of a book; such as imagining the characters or settings in a different way to other people. With a film, that imagination is crushed somewhat, as everybody sees the story through the same eyes. If you put a novel onto the screen, how you imagined the main characters/setting looked doesn’t matter, only the director’s view does. Any thoughts?

You are right the book is always better but I still like to watch the movie after I have read the book.
