Can any theatrical animal trainers help me?

Question by Dances With Mops: Can any theatrical animal trainers help me?
I’m in the process of making a movie. One of the scenes calls for a man to be chased by a police dog (German Shepherd or something similar), and for the man to shoot the dog. How could I get the dog to fall on cue with the gunshot (a blank, of course)? And how could I contact anybody who may already have an animal thus trained? This is my first such project, as you may have guessed. I may just scrap that idea altogether if it can’t be done.

Not sure about contacting someone who has a dog already trained like that..
Teach the dog to lay down on command. Then once its got that down pat, start teaching it to lay down when you say ‘bang’ or something similar to that, you could even use a cap gun. I used hand signals for my dog. You’ll have to repeat that a good bit for the dog to get used to doing that.
I’ll add more tomorrow so sorry if that didn’t help a bunch.
