Can creating video tutorials be profitable?

Question by JB: Can creating video tutorials be profitable?
In high school, I took a class that teaches students how to make quality movies using Adobe Premiere and After Effects. So with time, I can make a quality video. I am also very computer literate. Do you think if I made video tutorials for the new users looking to learn different types of software would be profitable? Some different examples of software I can teach is Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, General Computers (for those that have never used a computer before), Browsing the internet, etc. I am looking into ways I can create a business online. I am somewhat decent at HTML and am majoring currently in Graphic Design so building a website will be no problem. Also I would use E-bay to sell and Youtube for demos of my products. I need all the suggestions I can get. I would have to buy a headset and high quality webcam, and for onscreen I’d probably use fraps, or something of the like. Premiere to edit the video and AE to do special effects. Thanks.

Hey,

This could be profitable if you offer something that can’t be gotten for free already and thats the key, so I suggest you do your research first on the video products you intend to create and sell so you know what your up against.

Also if you’ve got money to spend I wouldn’t suggest you use ebay to sell these products individually, instead what I would suggest is that you create a membership site where people pay a monthly fee (just a thought) to access your video tutorials, and you use http://www.clickbank.com and get other people to promote and market your membership site for you, this will then get you ranked quicker and higher in the search engines. While you use ebay to sell your memberships.

Hope this helps
