Can I write MATLAB scripts in an external text editor?

Question by Jk Lppkh: Can I write MATLAB scripts in an external text editor?
I need to write a .m file/script but don’t have access to the software at the moment. Will MATLAB still recognise .m files written in an external text editor like notepad or vim?

Yes.
Save them as m-files. Later you can open those files with the editor and run them.
