Not sure what you mean about “Hollywood Movies”, as this certainly isn’t even in the same class as true professional video gear.
That said, it IS a pro-sumer camera with some nice features found onboard. It can be setup in several manual modes which is far better than just consumer ‘point and shoot’ camcorders. The ability to manage sound via the XLR inputs makes it even better. The only drawback I see is a 10x optical zoom. I’d want nothing less than 18-20x.
I’ve had several Prosumer video cameras, Sony – Panasonic- Canon. I would never go back to a ‘store-bought’ video camera again.
Whether or not this particular camera suits yours needs is unknown. For the price, it’s OK given the features, but if you could find a good Sony DVX series or the Canon GL series, you might find some extra benefits.
