Explorer of Light Shane Hurlbut, ASC, produced and photographed The Last Three Minutes in part to showcase the EOS 5D Mark II firmware upgrade v. 2.0.4, which added a cinematic 24P frame rate to this HDSLR. Episode 2: Vietnam (run time: 09:29), examines the harrowing Vietnam sequence in The Last Three Minutes. In this scene, we see William in the middle of a violent bombing, struggling to help his friend and fellow soldier. See the creative lighting and special effects used to turn scenic Lake Piru, California, into a wartorn battlefield. Also featured is the ‘Helmet Cam’ Shane used to capture the first person point-of-view long shot of William crawling through the combat zone.
