Cutting parts of videos with Windows Live Movie Maker?

I’m using Windows Live Movie Maker because i cant seem to get the original on my new laptop runnning Windows 7, anyway there is a trim tool, but it seems that it takes the start and end point of your trim and makes that the video, which is fine if you want to take off the beginning or end, but there are several things i want to take out of my 10 minute video throughout it and i cant do it

highlight your video and set the point (either under preview window or slider on storyboard ), then go to Edit -> Split to cut videos into pieces.
