Do 3D tvs make the picture come out of the tv or go into the tv?

Question by BDawg: Do 3D tvs make the picture come out of the tv or go into the tv?
At disney world there is a 3D movie i saw that makes pictures come out at you but when I went to see Avatar 3D, the picture didn’t come out at me. Instead, the picture looked like it went into the tv. I was wondering what 3D tvs do?

It’s 3D. So the foreground should look as if it’s in front of you(out of the TV). The background should look as if it’s just that, in the background. Plus please note that Avatar was shot in 3D. Most movies are just made in 3D in the post production. Like the new Alice in Wonderland. Which is way their was so most depth in that movie.
