Do entertainment attorney’s get screenwriters meetings with directors?
Question by Loving Life: Do entertainment attorney’s get screenwriters meetings with directors?
I know that there are various ways to get a script sold like going to conferences, entering contests, etc. BUT, my question is this.
If a writer was to hire an entertainment attorney, would that person set up meetings with directors?
What are the functions of an entertainment attorney?

You don’t get an attorney, you get an agent if even that. I’ve never heard of a conference or contest winner getting their script in, in fact I’ve never heard of a conference or contest, period. Success comes from sending it confidentially to all production companies yourself unless you really want to waste money paying somebody else to stuff envelopes for you.
