Do I need to license Windows fonts for business logo use?
Question by Creighton: Do I need to license Windows fonts for business logo use?
Tried searching, but to no avail. I feel like this is an obvious yes, but I just wanted to double-check.
Basically, I’m a web designer who got stuck with creating two logos for a start-up company. In them I used Century Gothic Bold and Segoe Script – both of which came installed with my copy of Windows 7. Given that they will be using these logos for business use, as well as marketing and on the actual product, do they need to “buy” the fonts in order to legally use them?
I see that (www.ascenderfonts.com) sells both for $ 30 each, but it seems to be licenses for 1-5 computers, not actual business print/software/web use.
Thanks!

You only need a license to redistribute or reverse engineer the font itself, not for using the font. The company that made the font expects it to be used in print.
