Question by choco: Do you think reading a lot of books is critical to making good movies?
I dont read much, but I want to be a film maker – I do not write my films, i work with my creative friends and I direct the material.

I think the broad scope of knowledge and culture available through books is essential to a maker of intelligent movies even if you are only the director and not the writer. You might want to start with books related to your chosen field.
