Does anybody know how to send in scripts for a movie?
Question by lorikeets6: Does anybody know how to send in scripts for a movie?
I would like to create a script and send it in to a producer to see what would happen. The problem is that I don’t know where to send it and what format it should be in before being sent in.

I don’t know much about movie scripts, but I’ve submitted book manuscripts so I can tell you some stuff about it. First you need to decide if you want an agent or if you want to send it yourself. Most people want you to have agents, as it’s really hard to get one so they weed out the ‘un-talented’ writers. Now one of the best resources (and it will help you with the manuscript format) is the Guide to Literary Agents, published yearly. It has submission guidelines and lists of people accepting submissions and what genres. Including an entire section for movie/play scripts agencies and how to present your manuscript. Before you make a dedication to submitting you need to do your research so your giving these people EXACTLY what they’re looking for. Asking other script writers and reading their success stories will help. Good Luck!
