Does anyone need more reasons to use “NoScript”?

how to sell a script
by Torley

Question by Dunbar Pappy ϟϟ: Does anyone need more reasons to use “NoScript”?
As if constant malware infections delivered through JavaScripted assets weren’t enough, now there are scripted assets that can query a machines attributes, and “fingerprint” it, by digging out many things about how your computer is configured: like on board fonts, language packs, browser settings, 3rd party software and version, and so on.

Now along comes “Blue Cava” which accumulates all these machine attributes, and identifies it (and in essence, you) and sells that info to marketing conglomerates.

This is going beyond harmless advertising ‘geared’ to you, and moves into the realm of spying, and should scare the pants off anyone with a shard of their personal rights awareness.

Having JavaScript enabled haphazardly permits these unannounced and invasive intrusions, but Firefox, with “NoScript” blunts much of the prying.

Share some thoughts, especially those who feel that those tracking cookies are ‘harmless’, or “Don’t worry about it”: I seek to understand your lack of concern.
