First day of skiing
Our first day of skiing season on the Snow Summit at Big Bear Lake. From the Snow Summit website: Thanks to Mother Nature and this cold, dry weather we’ve been making snow for 42+ hours. These are the kind of conditions that allow us to make a lot of “real” snow. This is some of the best early season riding Snow Summit has seen in years and with all this snowmaking we’re excited to open more lifts and runs as soon as possible. With great snowmaking comes cold weather, the high today will be 27 degrees with possible below zero wind chill so break out your warm cozy gear. Were looking at a machine groomed packed powder to machine groomed hard pack with lots of new snowmaking. All three roads into Big Bear are open with no chain requirements. All vehicles must always carry chains when traveling to the mountains during the winter months. Red=runs open, Purple= runs next to open Snow Summit and Bear Mountain have the most open terrain in Southern California with plenty of runs and trail combinations for beginner to advanced skiers and riders! The People’s Park at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit’s Westridge, ZZYZX and Ego Trip runs now offer more than 80 terrain park features! The weather is providing a long, continuous snowmaking window increasing the open lift and run count all the time. Come enjoy real snow, blue skies and friendly faces!
