them. Quote them a lowball figure, and they will say no. Then is your chance to ask them what they need in a rate to do it. If you can’t meet them at a reasonable rate, go to the next carrier. Once you do meet at a rate, then you will start the paperwork mentioned above. The set up packets, contracts, and rate confirmations will all be exchanged.

12. Freight Forwarding

   Freight Forwarding is a broker in a sense. They handle freight that is international. You will need a freight forwarder if you are handling container loads that ship overseas or air freight. This is a very lucrative position, but also requires a lot more experience with customs and such. If this is a career path you are interested in, I suggest finding an entry level position within a freight forwarding company.
