Question by Sean: good movie making programs cheap please….?
I have movie maker but it is awful. I also have imovie. I want to invest in a new program. I am making a documentary for national history day. Should I use IMovie or get a new program. I want a cheap program under 40 please?

You get what you pay for when you are working with NLE’s.

I suggest going with Sony Vegas. You can get it for under $ 100 and it is compatable with most HD formats. But keep in mind, you will need at least a P4 2.5Ghz machine with a big hard drive and at least 2G of memory, and that’s to edit standard definition.

HD requires a faster machine…
