Good video camera to make movies?
Question by Snake: Good video camera to make movies?
I’m looking for a good quality video camera that doesn’t sound like the movie’s being filmed from the same camera that films home videos. I don’t know if DV, or just straight digital is better. Also I wouldn’t mind having an attachable microphone and a tripod. Please help. I have no idea. (it’s a pity that the reall good ones aren’t sold to the public: on the other hand, some cost 100 grand XD

How much do you want to spend, DV = digital video.
Any camera can be used to create very good video its the user, knowing how to use the equipment, knowing the limitations of the camera.
You dont give a budget, but I can assure you that if you spend $ 20,000 on a camera its still going to look like a home movie, but in great quality. For something above the “consumer” quality you are looking at $ 2500 minimum, look at sony/Canon,
The more you spend on a camera the less it does for you and the more you have to control the camera, such as focus, lighting. They assume you have some experence in video work.
