Readers will recall that toward the end of the movie, we learned that Charlize Theron’s character was some kind of a twin to Will Smith’s Hancock and that the two of them had to be kept separate or they would lose all their powers. But we never really learned where they came from or even why they had to stay separate.
There are all kinds of possibilities for a new movie right there, where we could explore ancient enemies, maybe their people could come to rescue them, maybe we could see where they came from. Maybe they are even human beings who somehow got these god like creatures. For all we know, the decision could be made to tell us that the Greek gods gave them the power they possess.
