I was told that a antibotic script would get thru my entire blood system, I also think the inplant will do the same. I think the dentist is trying to sell more services and not being truthful. Has anyone had a similar procedure successfully?

Antibiotic implants are used when your body walls off an infection so completely that it can not get much of a blood supply. Your body does this to protect itself. Used when the infected area is large. Strangely, these do not hurt as much as small ones. They seem less serious to you, but they are not, they are more serious. The implant also helps to reestablish blood supply to the area faster.
