So I have to write an essay on history based information that has found its way into main stream movies that have been produced and directed by America or that came out of Hollywood. I chose to pick Samurai Culture because I figured there were many movies that used themes from Samurai history. I have to write a five page essay comparing history to the use of movie making. I have to discuss how history and culture/items such as the weapons create many stories and will continue to make movies and how it has shaped American Movie Culture. I need help with identifying American made movies that suggest themes from the Samurai….

I have already found the “Magnificent Seven” that suggests the ronin or the free samurai.

I am also using “The Last Samurai” because it his based on what might have happened, and also some characters are based on fact as well as it shows great Samurai culture.

is there anything else that I can use please help???

The Shogun mini series, which was also made into a movie. It goes into great depth on Japanese civilian and Samurai culture in the 1600s.
