I’ve been reading lots of little news and rumours about holographic technology, especially in movies and videogames. For example Professor Nasser Peyghambarian of the University of Arizona’s College of Optical Sciences has revealed he and his research team have been able to “realize science fiction in the laboratory” by producing 3D holographic images similar to those seen in the original Star Wars.

And for videogames, I’ve read rumours that the ps4 may use holographic technology. Like truly three-dimensional, free-floating images.

I think this is really cool but all I’ve seen really is some demonstrations, previews if you like, and rumours.

What do you think about when this technology will make its reveal and what prices we should expect? And in general, what do you think about the technology itself? 🙂

I think its already possible but only in labs. It will take atleast 2020 for that to be used in gaming affordable for everyone.
