How can I find a copy of a painting I used to own online if I don’t know the title or artist?
Question by fordellcastle: How can I find a copy of a painting I used to own online if I don’t know the title or artist?
I was given a painting (reproduction, nothing worth millions) years ago after my Grandma died. My ex-husband sold it without my knowledge. I have looked on the poster/print sites, but although I can see it in my mind I don’t know the name of the artist or title of the print. It featured two women in 19th century dress in a parlor/drawing room, one of them was putting on a bonnet while looking in a mirror. The other was standing near a window with French/glass doors opening on a garden. It remember the word ‘bonnet’ was written on the back, but don’t know if it was put there as part of the name of the piece or if someone had just written it. It was in script, in ink, I recall. It has been over 20 years ago, but I always loved it as a child and have never seen it again. Any help on where to look for it or the style/movement of it would be appreciated. If it sounds familiar to you, please let me know. It was large, by the way, about 18-22 inches wide x 24-30 inches tall.
