How do I capture or convert a DVD into a movie making software like Windows Movie Maker?

Question by ctnavyrichie: How do I capture or convert a DVD into a movie making software like Windows Movie Maker?
I’m trying to take a crappy DVD (a skydiving DVD) and make it better by editing it myself. I got DVDFab Decrypter and I copied it to my Harddrive. Now what software do I use to pull it apart and edit it myself. Could I convert it into a Windows Movie Maker Software and use that? Or should I just go with a copy of Nero? Is there a software tool that I can get that will further break this small DVD (about 10 minutes) further into individual scenes? Thanks for all of your help everybody!!

I am in the middle of such a project at the moment. All the editing software basically works the same way. I have tried a bunch of programs and found that Nero 7 Premium is the best for me, but it still isn’t easy (time consuming going thru frame by frame) Nero will actually edit the .VOB files whereas other ones won’t.
