First off with a digital camera you are never going to get good quality audio. The only pro camcorder I know of that is digital is the RED Cameras and they don’t record audio I believe…
If I were you I would get an $ 80 voice recorder with a mic input, buy a nice boom mic, like the Rode VideoMic, and sync them later. If you have a mic input on your camera, (which I doubt) then you can just put it in there. If you ever have any questions about film making let me know I am always willing to help.
PS there are no computer programs that will “Improve” audio quality. They can reduce some noise sometimes but using a mic is a way better option.
PPS if you want a more in depth answer just holler I will be willing to give one.
When I said digital I meant like SD card sorry.
