ive converted with format factory to .wmv, .mpg, and .avi and for some reason they wont play when i import them or not even import at all? this is my second converter, should i try a new one? or should i just buy a movie maker application that supports the AVCHD format? if so what would you recommend.

Generally Windows Movie Maker support .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, .wmv. If you use Vista it also support .dvr-ms.
