how do i make a video filmed in wide screen- full screen?

Question by Amanda: how do i make a video filmed in wide screen- full screen?
i have a sony DSC-W350 and it films HD videos but my problem is, that the only way it films HD is wide screen. I post videos to youtube and i dont like the look of wide screen. i also have to convert the HD videos to WMV which is also a huge hassle. so my question is, is there a way to fix this while editing on windows movie maker? or on the camera? i have searched the manual but no where does it say how to. And if not is there a shoot and point camera that films in HD that wont film wide screen and wont make me convert it. i hope that made sense please any help would be great.i really dont want to have to return this camera especially since i’ll lose 15% of what I spent on it.

Since you read the manual
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW350_handbook.pdf
Refer to page 17 – the Image size section on the right.

You can record video two ways. In 720p high definition MP4 files or 640×480 VGA files – all in different compression amounts. By definition, high definition video is widescreen. By definition 4:3 aspect ratio is standard definition (and can also be widescreen).

BUT… you can’t have high definition AND 4:3 aspect ratio. That is not an option. Well – unless you crop the video, but I don’t think the freebie MovieMaker does that… This is not something Sony did other than to follow the standards groups that define video aspect ratios so TVs cameras, video, players, radio frequency transmission, data files, recorders, DVD and tape players and all the other equipment that goes into allowing video production can all get along. This is why you cannot find it in the camera’s manual.

Since high definition video is ALWAYS widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio (unless you crop it), there is no camera or point & shoot camera or camcorder made that shoots high definition 4:3 aspect ratio.
Since we can’t see what you see, and we don’t know what you don’t like about the aspect ratio, I’ll guess you don’t like the black bars that are on all four sides of the uploaded video. If that is the case, then you merely need to figure out the settings in MovieMaker for importing and rendering a file properly to fill the YouTube video window and have no black bars. 1280×720 works for my YouTube uploads.
