How do I make videos made on windows movie maker look better?

Question by NekoNeko801: How do I make videos made on windows movie maker look better?
I don’t have sony vegas or anything cool like that so I have to use WMM to make videos.

I really want to make AMVs or MEPs for youtube, but I suck at using the program becasue I can’t figure out how to use it right. All I know how to make are slideshows that don’t match the music at all, and look really boring.

Please give me some suggestions on how to make cool videos with windows movie maker.

Thanks!!

Movie Maker XP (original and the MM2 upgrade), Movie Maker Vista and Movie Maker Windows 7 are all slightly different. You should google Windows Movie Maker with your operating system. There are a lot of videos, etc. out there that will help you get the music, etc. correct. There are WMM tutorial videos on YouTube. Also, the Movie Maker Help files are pretty good. Adding some effects always makes a slideshow video more interesting and fun to watch.

If you have the upgrade MM2 on XP, Microsoft has a pack of additional things:

More free MM add-ons for XP only:

Pixelan has additional effects, transitions for MM. They’re not free but it’s something to consider.

There are all kinds of sites with ideas and helpful information:

And for MM Vista:

One new thing I’ve been doing is using my photo editor (Photoshop Elements) to make a series of images like for a gif animation and using MM to make a short video clip with them instead. Putting something like a little animation in the slideshow makes it more interesting.
