How do I use Windows Movie Maker to edit and make videos?

Question by Ric-KK: How do I use Windows Movie Maker to edit and make videos?
For example: I have 2 videos that I want to use and put some parts of each video together. But Movie Maker won’t let me import videos from my computer or when I hook up my digital camera. How can I make it work?

Here are instructions for importing videos: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Import-video-files-pictures-and-audio-into-Windows-Movie-Maker

It could be that they are in a file format WMM does not recognize.
