You never see the car run over spikes or see smoke from an explosion or anything, so how do they make a tire blowout instantly when they want it to?

I’d guess with a small charge…powerful enough to blow it, small enough not to do any damage. Kind of like a bigger version of a squib (blood packet with a charge to simulate being shot).
