Question by Christine G: How do Movies make money from ticket sales?
If I go to a theater and pay for a ticket 3.00 does that money go to the theater or to the movie studio? If one theater sells tickets for $ 6.00 and another for $ 3. how does that tally up to the millions the movies make? I am confused how the system works- Please explain … Thanks in advance

first off if you can find a movie theather that only charges $ 3 for a ticket i would go there and never leave. most places are around 9 or 10. but to answer your question, the number you see when a movie comes out is the gross sales (number of tickets sold x price) from there the profits are divided up between the movie theaters, studios, etc.
